IMG_4356Pro Marine, based in O’Connor, WA has recently completed refit work on a Salthouse 68.

The vessel’s twin MTU 1000 hp engines were fitted with Arctic Steel 4” strainers as they offered the best quality and performance on the market. Another important feature was the clever lid design, making access quick and easy.

Rather than specifying solid cast lids, Pro Marine chose the clear lid option for all strainers fitted, making routine inspection of filter baskets very quick.

Not only do Arctic Steel strainers look great in the engine room, but fitting a cast 2205 stainless steel strainer means no welds to rust or corrode and you’re not mixing metals like bronze in an engine room that has mostly steel and stainless steel fittings (similar metals are much better for avoiding galvanic corrosion).

Pro Marine also fitted strainers to gensets, air con and refrigeration systems. They replaced valves, shaft seals, installed Quickutter rope cutters and repaired the davits on the Salthouse 68.
